When newspapers choose a supplier, they aim to improve the quality of their print and the performance of their business, not to win awards.
However, when they do win it is the right time to be delighted just as they are and to congratulate. Agfa Graphics is proud to announce that 10 out 19 winners of this year's Newspaper Awards use Agfa Graphics' systems.
A special mention goes to the 2013 Grand Prix winner given for Printed Innovation of the Year and awarded to Guardian Print Centre using Agfa Graphics' pre-press including violet chemistry-free N94-VCF plates. Judges highlighted GPC's "Excellent execution of multi-width webs on the run" and "Excellent colour across sections".
This years Agfa Premier Award for the Newspaper Printer of the Year went to Newsprinters. The judges agreed that Newsprinters had shown remarkable quality and colour consistency across multiple presses and print centres. Newsprinters use Agfa Graphics' prepress solutions.
The annual Newspaper Awards, originally launched in 1996, have traditionally had a focus on recognising excellence in the production values of newspapers.
